  18. My best find was one Saturday morning at a 'junk' shed. My parents were looking for second hand building materials when I spied four rusty chairs among the piles.
Though they needed a little work, they reminded me of some of the outdoor settings on old 60's tv shows. It wasn't until later when a cupboard was moved so my parents could get at some old iron that I spied a matching table, complete with glass top. We purchased the set for $70 and took it home. Later when we took it to the sandblasters to be repainted, we were informed that the setting had an added charm: It was handmade! The roses and vine settings had been made using brass. It must have taken so much skill to create such a piece and was probably made by a loving husband for his wife...or I like to think so anyway!

  23. I adore op shopping, and when I became engaged, I knew that if I went looking, I could probably find my wedding dress. Only a few trips and there hanging was my beautiful bright red (brand new with the $300 tag from the shop attached) floaty silk dress that was just perfect...for $25. My bright red heels that I wore with it cost $1 from another op shop....and yet I felt like a million dollars on the day.

  24. I love op shopping and have past down this love to my daughters, in fact my eldest daughter is an even bigger op shopper than me now. We have found so many treasures over the years it is hard to name the best. My most recent good finds were some Mary Quant sunglasses which still look awesome today and my husband picked up some flat panel speakers from the seventies which are covered in their original hippie material...they also give off great sound. Happy op shopping everybody may you find lots of treasures.
