madeit.com.au National Bandanna Day Competition

Get crafty with a bandanna and be one of six to be promoted nationally on Bandanna Day!

The Competition:

Friday 29th October marks National Bandanna Day and across the country one million Australians will be showing their support for CanTeen and young people living with cancer by wearing a bandanna.

There are multitude of uses for your bandannas. Whilst many choose to wear their bandannas around their head, their wrist, their waist as a belt or as a neck scarf, you use them to create quilts, dresses, pillows and a thousand other craft pieces.

From Friday 1st October National Bandanna Day bandannas shall be going on sale in national retailers across the country and we are inviting you to submit your own piece utilising these bandannas. They come in a range of designs and colours – 30 in total – so almost anything is possible.

Bandannas cost $4 each and will be on sale at Woolworths, Woolworths Petrol, Myer, Spotlight, Supercheap Autos, Eckersley's and schools around Australia during October.

The Prize:

The six winning entries shall be printed and displayed in the National Bandanna Day Hub on Martin Place, Sydney this year and distributed nationally on postcards.

This offers you the unique opportunity to advertise your designs, information regarding yourself, your passion for craft and your blog or madeit web url to a national audience.*

How to Enter:

Email madeit.com.au to register your store for the competition, then once you have created your piece, take a photo (as high resolution as possible and preferably on a white background) and upload the product as you would for any other madeit item (madeit will create a category for the canteen competition).

You’ll also have the choice to donate the proceeds of this item to CanTeen and assist this organisation in supporting young people living with cancer.

Once you have uploaded your item to madeit.com.au simply send an email to andrew.berrie@canteen.org.au with a link to the item, any additional photos or supplementary information you wish to include that you believe might increase your chances of winning and the following contact information: Your Full Name; Day Time Phone Number; Evening Phone Number; Email and Postal Address.

Entries shall be judged on originality, creativity and fun use of product by the National Bandanna Day staff of CanTeen and winners shall be notified by phone. Judges’ decision is final.

The closing date for entries is Monday 18th October at 12pm so get your thinking caps on so you can get off to a running start as soon as they go on sale on Friday 1st October.

If you have any questions regarding this competition you can direct them to Andrew Berrie andrew.berrie@canteen.org.au

If you are interested in ordering a box of bandannas to sell on Friday 29th October, would like to get involved in street sales or learn about volunteering options available throughout the rest of the year you can send an email to fundraising@canteen.org.au

* Subject to the quality of photography, entered pieces may be required by CanTeen for photography from Monday 18th October.
